By request, a crossover with Aliens and Metroid!

I know it doesn't keep with the original 'Alpha type' design, but this is anything but a normal metroid!

roughly twenty minutes of unadulterated work.
Drawn and colored with photoshop.

How I made it:

Started with a black background and worked on whatever was in the light. Thankfully the creature was also a dark tone so it saved a large amount of time. The background is just a bunch of lines quickly thrown together to make a hive. The glow on the bottom of the picture was made via single stroke of the air brush tool with low opacity settings.

How the creature is created in the fictional universe:
one idea I have:
Most likely made through experimentation, as anything that dares to come near the metroid's mandibles risks having its life force sucked out. It would also have to be an early stage metroid since most of the higher forms are too dangerous/powerful to contain. Drugging the subject metroid while in a cold lab environment would render the metroid inactive and utterly harmless while alien embryo implantation occurs. Since a metroid's 'mouth' is drastically bigger than the facehugger's leg span, the embryo is first extracted from the facehugger(or is bio-engineered) and then surgically implanted within the metroid. The embyro would then grow and develop as it normally would, drawing nutrients from the host creature and adapting its physiology to mimic the host.

The cestburster form may be a much smaller metroid-like creature that sucks the life of the host from within, then 'hatch' out of host body's withered husk when all life energy has been siphoned. from then on it lives the life of a normal metroid, albeit a more aggressive one that adheres to the alien's inherent hive mind attitude. The more it feeds the stronger it gets, all the while slowly molting towards its final stage.(gamma, zeta, omega, maybe queen)

kinda crazy considering metroids were made by the chozo to be a biological weapon while some theories suggest that xenomorphs were also created to be biological weapons(by the Space Jockeys no less.) Combine the two and you have a weapon that can end worlds!

was this what you were looking for?

Haha thanks that was just what I was looking for. I was having a hard time trying to work out how a facehugger would implant an embryo into a Metroid. But the way you described it sounds like it could work.

Maybe you could do a xeno metroid queen hybrid just like the Omega, sometime in the future. Just thinking about what that would look like gives me shivers down my spine. You have me quite excited about this metroid alien cross over you have done haha :)
